Clay Housing Project

A few amounts of time ago  I went to the Housing Project as part of The State of Design Festival.

It looked a little bit like this (Picture above)It was an interactive exhibition about suburban life shown in little models of clay houses, trees and factories and stuff. The buildings were made by children and adults in the community with Ann Ferguson. The Housing Project  presented community workshops in which small ceramic houses and buildings were made by  groups of people including children and their parents, university  students, refugees, and youth at risk, people with disabilities and elderly citizens. Besides building little ceramic objects, people were asked for comments, ideas, memories, plans, jokes and songs about urban living.

As people change the state of the city by placing and moving clay buildings and trees, the sound of the city changes. It is up to you to save the world, nah just kidding, but you can edit it by moving objects such as buildings                   around or off the board so have loads of fun.

” Go, Go Bruno!”

On Saturday  30th April, I went to “Go Go Bruno!” at Artplay. It was about  Bruno Munari who was an inventor, engineer, artist, teacher and many other things, 11 in fact!

A designer called Sam and  Gabe hosted. They showed us the 6 main machines some of which were the wheel, pulley, rampy thing lever and wedges. There is 1 more which we don’t remember, if you do know then let me know!  He made some ridiculous machines like a mosquito humiliator.
